Goldners’ Farewell Concert

Limited tickets remaining—book now to avoid disappointment!

Launched in 1995 and named after Richard Goldner, founder of Musica Viva Australia, the Goldner Quartet is unique in the history of string quartets in Australia. Over 30 years, the Quartet has toured nationally and internationally, made prize-winning recordings with and collaborated with outstanding artists and composers. They are the ultimate musical family, two married couples who, in their 30 years together, have lived through the highs and lows that any family experiences.

Dene, Irina, Dimity & Julian have decided that 2024 is the right time to bring their
Goldner String Quartet journey to a close. Musica Viva Australia invites you to celebrate three decades of magnificent music-making in the Goldners’ farewell performance.

Join us on December 8, 2024, at the Verbrugghen Hall at the Conservatorium of Music, Sydney, where, on the same day in 1945, Richard Goldner and the Musica Viva players gave their very first concert: a resonant prelude to Musica Viva Australia's 80th anniversary year.

"The Goldners weigh every chord to perfection, and make the textures utterly transparent..."
