Current Opportunities

Philanthropy Coordinator

Based in Sydney on Gadigal Land  
Permanent Part-time 30 hours or 4 days per week

Musica Viva Australia relies on the generosity of its supporters to help bring its mission to life - giving audiences access to the performances, education programs, new works and tours for which they are renowned. The Development team now seeks a Philanthropy Coordinator who will play crucial role in supporting the implementation of strategies to strengthen Musica Viva Australia’s philanthropic activities through donor stewardship, database support, budget maintenance, and administrative duties. 

With demonstrated experience in managing relationships, database management and strong organisational skills, ideally gained in the arts or the broader not for profit sector, the successful candidate will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an attention to detail, and high emotional intelligence. The ideal candidate will be highly effective at engaging with stakeholders both internal and external in supporting the organisation’s philanthropic agenda. An interest in and/or knowledge of the arts scene, classical music and music education is desired.  

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your philanthropy and development skills.

Education Team

MVA is one of the leading providers of music education in Australia. Proudly bringing music to schools for more than 40 years, helping shape the lives of generations of Australian children and reaching close to 300,000 students annually. Dynamic performances by culturally-diverse ensembles are complemented by comprehensive lesson plans, interactive content, and professional development for teachers, building the capacity of schools to inspire, teach, and instil a love of music.  

Professional Development Coordinator Education

Based in Sydney on Gadigal Land   
Permanent Part-time 22.5 hours or 3 days per week 

We are seeking an experienced administrator to join our MVA Education team in a national role. If you are excited about music and education and have good organisational skills, this is a great opportunity to develop your arts management skills in a national role. This position reports to the Professional Development Manager and is expected to develop and sustain working relationships with stakeholders including teachers and MVA artists and presenters in the delivery of the MVA Education professional development portfolio.  

Qualities that will make you successful in this role  

  • Confidence and a commitment to MVA’s vision  
  • Demonstrated organisational and administration skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team  
  • Proven interpersonal skills with strong experience in customer service.. Experience in CRM programs (Tessitura or similar) desirable - training will be provided  
  • Experience working in education and/or the arts sectors and knowledge of the education landscape.

Education Administrator

Based in Perth on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar  
Permanent Part-time 30 hours or 4 days per week

If you are excited about music and education and have good organisational skills, this is a great opportunity to develop your arts management skills in a national role in MVA Education team. This position reports to the Director of Education and is expected to develop and sustain working relationships with stakeholders including teachers, artists and donors in the delivery of MVA Education programs.  

Qualities that will make you successful in this role  

  • Confidence and a commitment to MVA’s vision  
  • Experience working in or understanding of the education and/or the arts sectors and knowledge of the education and arts landscape.  
  • Strong organisational and administration skills.  
  • Proven interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
